The Lie of Not Having Enough Time For Your Health
Today we dig into Lie #2 that keeps you UN-Motivated: not having enough time. It’s no secret that we all wish that we could add a little time to our day to “fit it all in.” But the people who do take the time for their health have no more hours in the day.
So what’s the secret to success?
- When health is looked at as another “to-do” on your never ending list, it will feel frustrating & overwhelming to get it done. When it is viewed as that, the brain already puts up resistance before you even start (after all, you ARE busy), so even when you REALLY want to commit, the brain fights against you.
- Stop “should-ing” on yourself. The belief of what you “should” be doing to be healthy gets in the way of honoring where you are in your life during any given season. You get the power to evaluate how you want to move, look and feel through each day and DECIDE how to behave accordingly. So it takes the pressure off the should and transforms you in the control seat to base your decisions on what you believe about yourself & your health in this season and it allows you to create YOUR success pathway.
- Small steps create big wins. You would never tell a loved one their small effort is not worth it, instead you would encourage the small wins, knowing very well it can grow. When your brain and body feels these small wins, it starts to look at you like a person of success. A person it wants to keep showing up for.
Showing the brain success & making decisions of what to do with your time takes the pressure off & allows you to start finding simple steps toward automating the health process so it comes naturally when you really are pressed for time. So you keep moving forward, no matter what blocks life throws at you.
